Hand embroidery on cotton-linen blend fabric, displayed as a suspended sheet with wooden pegs.
2024

This piece explores the fluid convergence of Hindi, Punjabi/Panjabi, and English — the three languages that intertwined seamlessly within my childhood home(s). The embroidered textile echoes the rhythmic cadence of this hybrid tongue and is presented as a sheet hung on a line, particularly of my Nani (grandmother), who laundered and hung sheets under the warmth of the summer sun in her backyard.
